Jungkook said (in Let’s Eat Dinner Together) that he feels that he has to act ‘fake’ in a certain way every time he talks to someone new, he doesn’t feel sincere when conversing with them. Kang Ho Dong told him that in wrestling he had to adjust to the size of his opponent and fight them differently. Like wrestling, everyone is different so it’s ok to be ‘fake’ and adjust his personality to talk to them because you don’t know what their personality is like yet.

“Because I came up to Seoul alone during my adolescence and lived alone, when I meet people for the first time, it feels to me like I don’t treat them honestly. It feels like there’s a wall between us. It’s supposed to be that you connect with people’s hearts, but all I do is ask myself, ‘What should I do to befriend this person?’ or 'What should I do to make this person like me?’. I can’t help but feel that I wear a mask around people.”
